Attractor Seeking
Definition
Attractor Seeking is the navigation mode that uses prediction of future phase to plan long-range trajectories through the computational substrate, enabling complex multi-step navigation strategies.
It is the third of four navigation modes the book classifies by which phase parameters they use: Local Sync uses phase alignment only, with simple control but limited range; Gradient Riding optimizes the phase gradient, with high efficiency but a need for mapping; Attractor Seeking uses future phase prediction, giving long-range capability at the cost of complex computation; and Mesh Navigation uses the full phase topology, with maximum flexibility and high data requirements. Advanced navigation extends into superposed, phase-coherent states described by Quantum Phase Coupling.
Its controlling parameter is φ▷, the future phase prediction parameter [∅].
It sits between Gradient Riding and Mesh Navigation among the navigation modes, and connects to Local Sync, Mesh Navigation, Quantum Phase Coupling, Phase Navigation Principles and Attractor States.
