Band of Chemistry and Stars
Definition
The Band of Chemistry and Stars is the range of harmonic levels where atoms hold together and stars can stand: atoms need α below 1, above about level 198.5; stars need gravity weaker than the electric force between protons, α_G below α, below about level 288.6.
We sit about 3.5 levels above its floor. It follows from the Fine-Structure Constant across Levels and Gravity's Coupling across Levels, and so rests on the author's ruling that charge is carried through and on the matter law holding at every level. Were α the same at every level, the band would have no top. The masses the Higgs field sets, the electron's and the quarks', are not yet on the dial, so the band is drawn by electromagnetism and gravity alone. It connects to One Dial and The 202 Nexus.
