Containment Threshold
Definition
The Containment Threshold is the limit of what the Prime Pulse substrate can hold; when recursive computation exceeds it, the substrate overflows, symmetry breaks spontaneously and differentiated physical forms emerge.
It is the trigger of the Recursive Overflow Event, the book's account of how the perfectly symmetric pre-causal state becomes the structured, asymmetric universe. Before emergence the substrate is in the perfect recursive invariance of the Harmonic Fold Framework, with translational, rotational and temporal symmetry intact and uniform coupling across all sites, described by the Symmetric Hamiltonian Pre-Overflow State. Recursive density nevertheless accumulates through pulse interactions until it passes the threshold, and a uniform configuration can no longer be kept. The book treats this as the same process as Null Well collapse and dimensional emergence, scaled up, and uses it to explain the universe's asymmetry as computational necessity rather than arbitrary initial conditions.
The Bifold Containment Law gives it its measure: the containment threshold is χ_∂ = A / (4 · ln(2) · ℓ_p²) · ℨᵇ, the holographic capacity of the Bifold, the skin that contains the data, one bit for every 4·ln2 Planck areas. The Pulsecore holds while what it contains fits that record: when its data and their null together fill it, it gives the Null Nova, and when the data alone exceeds it, the Data Nova; the same χ_∂ is the containment threshold of the Nova Threshold Law.
It connects to the Recursive Overflow Event, Critical Overflow Conditions, Critical Overflow Threshold, Symmetric Hamiltonian Pre-Overflow State, Recursive Density Accumulation and Harmonic Fold Framework and Bifold Containment Law.
Mathematical Expression

χ_∂ = A / (4 · ln(2) · ℓ_p²) · ℨᵇ
The most a boundary of area A can hold, in bits; a record that outgrows it breaks containment.
