Emergent Algorithmic Sophistication

Definition

Emergent Algorithmic Sophistication is the rise of complex behavior from simple binary rules, through the Prime Pulse Bifurcation, self-organizing criticality at phase boundaries and adaptive information processing, as universes succeed one another. It is one of the ways the book says complexity grows across generations, alongside Information Density Amplification, in which collapse concentrates computational resources and higher-order correlations and nested recursive structures develop. Each generation inherits its parent's temporal resolution, typically coarsened by its own collapse and refined only in merger-compressed cores, and more computational depth: in the book's Complexity Evolution Patterns, a parent universe with ①⥂⧗'⌂ around 10⁻⁴⁴ s and complexity index 1.0 gives first-generation universes with ①⥂⧗'⌂ typically from 10⁻⁴⁴ to 10⁻⁴² s (rare merger cores to 10⁻⁴⁶ s), complexity index 1.2–2.1 and branching factor 2–8, and second-generation universes typically spanning 10⁻⁴⁴ to 10⁻⁴⁰ s (rare merger cores to 10⁻⁴⁸ s), complexity index 1.5–4.3 and branching factor 3–12. The book concludes that life-supporting conditions are expected branches of this tree rather than improbable anomalies. It connects to Self-Organizing Criticality, Recursive State Evolution, Complexity Evolution Patterns, Multi-Generational Complexity Evolution and Prime Pulse Bifurcation.
