Pulse Core Lexicon

First Fold

Definition

The First Fold is the folding mechanism that provides topological containment within the substrate, linking collapse cycles to pattern stabilization and laying the foundation for the geometric, crystalline structure that follows. The book introduces it in Part 3.2 and returns to it in the Harmonic Fold: the same folding process that first gave stability is shown to generate a universal harmonic lattice under all structural emergence. Its arithmetic core is unity convergence, F(n) = 1 for n ≥ 2: quadratic expansion under a modular constraint always leaves a remainder of one, (n + 1)² mod n = 1, which gives natural harmonic reference points in every recursive system operating within the temporal bound of the Pulse Rhythm, ①⥂⧖⌂ = ①⥂⧗⌂ / 2. The book compares the resulting discrete stable modes with de Broglie's wave quantization. The identity is (n + 1)² mod n = 1 for all n ≥ 2, where (n + 1)² is the quadratic expansion term, mod n the modulo operation and n the recursion level; all are dimensionless, [∅] mod [∅] = [∅]. It connects to Harmonic Fold, Quadratic Amplification, Recursive Growth Law, UniSpheral First Fold Function and Topological Containment.
