Monopoles

Definition

Monopoles are point-like topological defects produced when spherical symmetry breaks during the recursive symmetry-breaking cascade. They are one of four classes of defect the book lists as arising from symmetry breaking under the Wavelength Scaling Law λₙ = λ₀/n: Domain Walls, planar boundaries between regions of differing vacuum states; Cosmic Strings, one-dimensional defects from cylindrical symmetry breaking; Monopoles, point-like defects from spherical symmetry breaking; and Textures, non-topological solitonic configurations formed through computational overflow. Together with the Emergence Timeline, these defects show that recursive symmetry breaking not only orders the stages of emergence but also leaves enduring geometric discontinuities, which the book describes as encoding the memory of broken symmetries in the fabric of computationally generated reality. It connects to Domain Walls, Textures, the Emergence Timeline, Topological Defect Network Evolution, Wavelength Scaling Law and Hierarchical Symmetry Reduction.
