Octave Transposition

Definition

Octave Transposition moves a note by whole octaves without changing it: an octave is the pulse doubling, and pitch is heard as the place within the octave. It brings any universe's note into hearing; ours, moved down 135 octaves, sounds at 425.9 Hz. Formally, f♪ = f₁ / 2^k, where f♪ [𝕋⁻¹] is the note brought into hearing, f₁ [𝕋⁻¹] the universe's fundamental and k [∅] a whole number of octaves: [𝕋⁻¹] = [𝕋⁻¹]. It connects to Universe Note Frequency and Child Note.

Mathematical Expression
