Pulsecore Drive
Definition
The Pulsecore Drive is the data layer as written: the field of pulsers the Cell Rule leaves when the Pulsecore has filled. Once a cell has pulsed it never stops, so the field fills until no null is left, and from then on nothing new is written; the field only flips, frame to frame, for the rest of the life.
The drive is read, not rewritten. Binary Pulse Theory reads two things from this: information that falls into a well is not destroyed, because the running copy ends while the written data stays; and the drive is read through a boundary, so what a region can hold is set by its surface, as the holographic bound and the Pixel Bound count. On a field of 128 by 128 cells the rule fills in about 55 pulses.
It connects to The Physical as Executed Code, Information-Driven Perpetuation, Pixel Bound and Language of a Universe.
