Structure Over Chance

Definition

Structure Over Chance is how much more predictable a text is than the same text shuffled: 0 for a text with no order beyond its letter counts, 1 for one that is wholly predictable. A level-25 universe's drive in the game reads about 52%. Formally, S = 1 − h_n / h_s, where S [∅] is the structure, h_n [∅] the next-symbol uncertainty of the text and h_s [∅] that of the text shuffled: [∅] = [∅]. It connects to Next-Symbol Uncertainty and Speaking Condition.

Mathematical Expression

S = 1 − h_n / h_s
