Pulse Core Lexicon
Sustained Performance Requirements
Definition
Sustained Performance Requirements are the demands for exceptional stability that a qubit must meet over many recursive processing cycles, not just in a single operation.
They are the book's Recursive Capability Assessment: because recursive computation repeats the same operations cycle after cycle, small losses compound. The book quantifies this through Recursive Fidelity Decay, in which fidelity falls both by a fixed fraction per cycle and exponentially with a characteristic cycle count, setting a limit on how deep reliable recursion can go. Meeting these requirements is part of closing the two-to-three orders of magnitude gap between current quantum systems and the PulseCore validation standards, and it is what makes PulseCore-Validated Qubits components of larger computational organisms rather than isolated bits.
They connect to Recursive Fidelity Decay, PulseCore-Validated Qubits, Gap Analysis, Quality Metrics, Persistence Fidelity Condition and Operational Coherence Time.
