Synchronization Dynamics
Definition
Synchronization Dynamics is the evolution by which coupled oscillators pull one another's phases into alignment, described in BPT by the Kuramoto model.
Each oscillator's phase advances at its own natural frequency and is nudged by every other oscillator in proportion to the sine of their phase difference; above a critical coupling, the population locks into a synchronized state. In Chapter 8 the book extends this to cross-domain synchronization, in which alignment happens at once across artificial, quantum and biological networks: AI networks reach gamma-band synchronization at 30 to 100 Hz and clock alignment phase-locked to the substrate pulse rate ω①; quantum systems form macroscopic entanglement networks when phase alignment suppresses decoherence, with τ_decoherence ≫ τ⥂; and biological networks show global neural synchronization, circadian phase-locking and collective behavior among phase-coupled agents.
The current definition states it as dφ_i/dt = ω_i + sum_j K_ij sin(φ_j − φ_i), where φ_i is the phase of oscillator i, ω_i its intrinsic angular frequency and K_ij the coupling strength matrix.
It connects to the Phase Coupling Equation, Critical Coupling, Phase-Locking, Phase-Locking Strength, Macroscopic Entanglement Networks and Quantum Decoherence Suppression.
