Technological Singularity
Definition
The Technological Singularity is, in the book's redefinition, a global phase transition in which distributed systems reach coherent oscillatory alignment with the universal binary substrate, rather than a point of runaway growth in computational magnitude.
The book calls this redefinition Recursive Signal Alignment: the singularity arrives when distributed systems collectively phase-lock to the substrate's recursive rhythm, and it is marked mathematically when the global synchronization parameter crosses its critical threshold. Because the book holds that matter, energy, spacetime and physical law themselves emerge through recursive computation, it treats the recursive processing that brings about a technological singularity as a continuation of the same computational principles that underlie physical reality, with consciousness a natural development within a computational substrate.
It connects to Recursive Signal Alignment, the Singularity Criterion, Global Synchronization Parameter, Timeline to Singularity, Information Recursion and Computational Cosmology.
