Transition Regime
Definition
The Transition Regime is the range of the Duality Parameter near 1, D ≈ 1, where an object's de Broglie wavelength is comparable to its characteristic form length, so wave and particle behavior coexist.
The book classifies wave-particle behavior by the ratio of these two lengths: well above 1 lies the Wave Regime of extended field behavior, well below 1 the Particle Regime of localized form, and between them the Transition Regime. It is where the field-to-form crystallization is neither complete nor absent. Among the Chapter 7.6 testable predictions, transitions of this kind are to be measured through fringe visibility in matter-wave interferometry.
The condition is D = λ_dB/L▢ ≈ 1, where D is the Duality Parameter, λ_dB the de Broglie wavelength and L▢ the characteristic form length scale; D is a ratio of two lengths and so dimensionless [∅].
It connects to the Duality Parameter, Wave Regime, Particle Regime, Characteristic Form Length Scale and Field-to-Form Transition.
Mathematical Expression
D = λ_dB/L▢ ≈ 1
