Prime Pulse Interference Condition
Definition
The Prime Pulse Interference Condition is the requirement that two substrate wave functions overlap coherently, in both their active pulse states and their inactive null states, for interference to occur between them.
The book models the substrate with a tensor product structure that encodes both computational activity and pause: each wave function has components in active pulse states and in null states. Two such wave functions can interfere only if their inner product is non-zero, which requires overlap in both parts at once. This inner product decides whether interference in the binary substrate is constructive or destructive, and it leads directly to the Coherence Factor, the same overlap taken between a wave function and itself at a later time.
The formal statement is ⟨Ψ_1|Ψ_2⟩ = sum_(n,m) c_1n c_2m ⟨n_p|m_p⟩ ⟨n_0|m_0⟩, where Ψ_1 and Ψ_2 are the two substrate wave functions, c_1n and c_2m their complex amplitude coefficients, ⟨n_p|m_p⟩ the inner product between active pulse states and ⟨n_0|m_0⟩ the inner product between null states, summed over the computational state indices n and m. Dimensions: ⟨Ψ_1|Ψ_2⟩, the coefficients and the state overlaps [∅]; Ψ_1, Ψ_2 [𝕃⁻³/²]. The book's check is consistent.
It connects to the Coherence Factor, Constructive Interference, Destructive Interference and Interference Patterns.
