PulseCore

Chapter 1

The Universe from Its Level

How the game brings Binary Pulse Theory's universe-from-one-number into play. The level L, the genesis and the lineage set the clock, the constants, the field, the rupture, the progeny and the generations; this chapter shows how the code computes each law, how the player sees it, and where the game and the theory part.

Chapter 1

The Universe from Its Level

Binary Pulse Theory says that one number decides what a universe is: its level L. The level counts the doublings between the universe and the Zinf, the first universe at level 0. From it the theory derives the universe's frame ratio s = (2f)^L, the bits a pulse carries, the size of its view, 16·2^(2L) pixels, and the length of its life, 2^L of its own Pulse Tempos to its final well. Ours is level 202. The level is joined by two more facts about a universe: its genesis, the spin and mass ratio of the merger that made its well, and its lineage, the heritage H that the generations before it passed on. Together they fix its clock, ①⥂⧗⌂ = ℨ · 2^L · H, and every constant that follows from the clock.

This chapter brings into the game the laws of BPT Chapter 1 (the Zinf units and the Universal Scaling Factor in its Parts Z and D under Part 1.6, the Rupture Rule, Bits per Pulse, the Zinf cycle of Parts 1.6 and 1.7, and the Local Pixel Count and Holographic Pixel Bound of Part 1.9), of BPT Chapter 2 (the Progeny Count Law of Part 2.3, the Level and Lineage Clock, the heritage and the genesis classes of Part 2.8, and the matter and star lines of Part 2.10), of BPT Chapter 3 (the Data Energy Transition of Part 3.1, the Data Nova Scale Law of Part 3.5, the Outward Expansion Set, Bifold Containment and the Layer Count Law of Part 3.6, Fractal Progeny and the Reproductive Outcome Distribution of Part 3.9, Spinless Early Lineage and Return to Bifurcation of Part 3.10, and Level from Share, the Ascendant Ceiling and the generations of Part 3.14), of BPT Chapter 6 (the child's Tempo of Part 6.5, and the compression and inherited spin of Parts 6.8 and 6.9), and the Universe Packet of BPT Part 8.1.

The arc is the theory's own. A universe begins as a genesis. It pulses 2^L of its own Tempos to its final well, passing Harmonic 3, its big bang, on the way and reaching Harmonic 3·2^L at the end. Its null wells then collapse into children, each one generation on, each at the level its well's share of the universe gives. In the game the player chooses a level and a genesis on the Universe & Genesis panel. describeUniverse() universe.js:282 turns that choice into the universe's constants, which the readout card prints at once. Start runs the Pulsecore to its two novas and the universe through its harmonics, while the HUD counts its Tempos toward 2^L. At the final well the game ranks every well, reads each child's level from its share, and lists the children. The player can dive into a well and play its child, which opens one generation on with its parent's heritage, or save the whole universe as a Universe Packet.

A deep level cannot be drawn cell for cell, so scaleModel() app.js:4245 draws a smaller field and a shorter life while the physics stays at the true level (Part 1.10). Every line reference is to the v8.3 game folder, or to game/v8.3/index.php for the page markup.
