PulseCore

Chapter 3

Wells, Sites and Gravity Rings

How Binary Pulse Theory's wells live in PulseCore: where the data makes its Proto Wells, how they fail or become sites, how wells are born by collapse, spin, merge, feed, spiral matter in, are ranked by the census and seed their children, and how their rings meet. Each law is set beside the code that computes it and the screen that shows it.

Chapter 3

Wells, Sites and Gravity Rings

Binary Pulse Theory says a Null Well forms wherever the data grows denser than the substrate can hold, and that every such well is a door: what falls in returns to the Source, and the information it gathered seeds a new universe one generation on. This chapter follows that story through the game. It brings in BPT Chapter 2 (Part 2.3, the Null Well Formation Condition and the Null Well Progeny Count Law; Part 2.8, merger origins and the Pulse Rhythm), Chapter 3 (Part 3.6, the Data Nova; Part 3.9, Fractal Progeny, Null Well Collapse and the Dimensional Failure Law; Part 3.10, the Return to the Source, the pulsing decay and the Return to Bifurcation; Part 3.13, failed Proto Wells and the gravitational waves of the space layer; Part 3.14, Galaxies: Proto Wells, sites, direct collapse, the Capture of the Data, the Count and the Ascendant Wells), Chapter 6 (Part 6.9, Spin Inheritance) and Chapter 7 (Part 7.5, interference).

The arc in plain words. In the theory, the data the Pulsecore pours out at the Data Nova collapses where it is densest into Proto Wells, the seeds of the dark halos. One collapse in 2^D comes back null and its data goes home. At the Physical Nova the rest become sites, where gas gathers and stars light, and a site's own well is born later, by a whole cloud collapsing at once or by its first dying star. Wells feed on gas and on the Data Matter round them, spin, merge and give part of their mass to the space layer as gravitational waves. At the final well a census reads each well's share of the universe and so the level of the child it will seed. In the decay the wells take in everything that is left, and each one bifurcates as a new UniSphere.

The game makes this happen on its field of cells. It finds the densest places of the drawn data and places a Proto Well at each, gives each a share of the Data Nova's overflow, fails one in 2^D by a deterministic draw, turns the rest into sites, and lets wells be born by the hoop test, by dying stars and at the sites. A gravity grid moves them, a merger rule joins them, a census ranks them, and a tap dives into the universe one of them seeds.

What a player watches: at Harmonic 2 the torus fills with breathing magenta rings, the Proto Wells, and the HUD's well line reads "Proto Wells". At the big bang they go quiet as sites and the line counts the "sites waiting". Galaxies gather round those places. Black spheres with warm orange rings appear at their hearts, some with glowing disks, Seyfert glows and quasar jets. Cyan wave crests run across the skin when wells merge. Well #1 wears a gold hoop and every Ascendant Well carries its tag. When the universe has returned to the Source, the player taps a well and plays its child. Line numbers are for game v8.3, and the code is the ground truth throughout.
