White Dwarf Initial–Final Mass Relation
From white dwarfs in star clusters of known age (Kalirai et al., 2008). A Sun leaves about 0.5 M☉; a star of 8 M☉ leaves about 1.3, just under the limit. The rest of the star is returned to the gas, enriched.
